Summertime…
Happy summer to you all!
Nashville summer humidity has started early for us at home. But I do have some beautiful flowers blooming and I LOVE flowers! Summer has also brought on some changes in my world. You have all seen pictures of the superdogs in our lives. I love animals. It’s kind of a problem. This last spring I adopted a canary named Jim who is a world class singer. It’s amazing the things that lil bird does with his voice! And the most recent addition to my home is Sawyer, a lil kitten that somehow weasled his way into my home and heart. For the record, I am not a cat person but this lil face won me over. He is cute and cuddly and playful and gonna be huge.

Me and my roommate, Melanie, are quite smitten with him, but the dogs are still a lil indecisive. Violet (the white dog) can’t decide if she wants to eat him or play with him. I think at the end of the day though all will be well in the home. Who knows what might be the next animal…a hedgehog perhaps?!

We have done a few festivals already this summer that have been awesome. Last weekend was Alive in Ohio and it rocked! Soon we will be heading up to Lifest in Wisconsin where it all started, so you guys better be ready. There are some other great shows this summer that we hope to see you at and in between them we are getting things set for our fall tour.
If you haven’t heard already, we are going out with BarlowGirl. I know there are many of you that have been patiently waiting for this to happen and well… is! It’s gonna be awesome, so start looking now to see where we are coming that is close to you and if we aren’t then ask someone to bring us to your town!
I have also been working this summer on a lil side project called Birds of a Feather. It’s feather hair accessories. If you have Facebook just look up Birds of a Feather. I will be bringing them out in the fall to sell at shows and also you can order them. So go take a look…

Alrighty, I’m off to go see someone about my back. I seem to have thrown it completely out and want to get in good form for the fall. Until next time…
Write you later…
Melissa
