Hello there!

I have been trying to be dedicated to writing to the Superchick world at least once a week, so I am sorry to you all for missing last week. I know that you all sit on the edge of your seats each week to see what is happening in the exciting life of Melissa, so here I am .

We had a show last weekend in the beautiful state of California. The weather was glorious! Almost enough to make me move there if it wasn’t so expensive BUT the show was great! We loved all of you that were there and we can’t wait to go back. I know our new drummer Clay was especially loving it because his family and friends were there (we were very close to his hometown). Dave was also smiling from ear to ear because his fiancee Grace is also from there, so he got to spend some time with her and her parents. So all in all, California treated us well!

On a side note, I got a new tattoo this week! I had a lil shooting star on my foot, but not long after I got it, someone pointed out that it looked a lot like the Texas Astros star. Well, a bit ago my lil heart was broken by a Texan, and as those of you out there who have had your heart broken know, any reminder of that hurt is no fun. SO, I decided to make some beauty out of my painful reminder:

Laura at Music City Tattoo is amazing and gave me some beautiful roses, and since my middle name is Rose and my grandpa gave me that name because he said when I was born I was as beautiful as a rose, it is now something special and beautiful to me.

Hello out there!

So the last you heard from me, we were in Switzerland. We had an amazing show there. The crowd was rockin’! There were a couple thousand kids in probably the hottest room we have ever played in, jumping and going crazy despite any language barrier. We found some time to do some interviews too.

We went and slept for a couple of hours that night, and then at 3:30am we got up to go to the airport to take off for England. It was a very long day of flights and 3 hour van rides, but the show was so worth it because the crowd was amazing! We have played this festival before and hopefully will again because it rocks.

After the show, we slept for a few hours and then hopped back in the van at 3:30am again, took a 4 hour van ride where we ran out of gas and our driver almost fell asleep multiple times, got to the airport, and finally hopped on a plane to come home. Tricia and I thought we would sleep on the 8 hour flight because of the crazy couple of travel days and lack of sleep, but that was not in our future ’til we got home that night. I think I slept for 14 hours that night!

Now we are home for a couple weeks ’til the next show. Yesterday was such a beautiful day in Nashville, so Tricia and I decided to have a picnic day with the men in our lives. Tricia and I mostly sat on the blankets and chilled, but the boys decided to do some fishing and they were successful .

All in all it was a good ending to a very long weekend. We will see what my time at home consists of and maybe next time I will give you a lil glimpe into the everyday home life of some Superchicks…

Hello Superland!

Tour wrapped up last weekend. It was a good run. You kids out there at the shows were awesome. We love having Rachel Hockett out speaking and riding on our bus. She is a new forever friend now. And the sister duo Tal and Acacia were great. If you haven’t heard their music, go out and pick up an album – you will be in for a treat!

The last night of tour is always prank night, and the sisters are new to touring so Matt got them with a little interpretive dance number during their set. They definitely got us back when they came out during Rock What You Got and broke out some dance moves!

Our last crowd was great and as promised, here are the find yourself in the crowd photos. All in all it was a great bunch of shows and we love all of you who came out to see us!

Current Superchick location is Switzerland. We got in this morning and have been walking all around the town of Frauenfeld. We are staying at an amazing bed and breakfast place. There are flowers everywhere and the weather is perfect!

And churches…we love visiting churches all over the world. Here’s Dave, and I even found a lil time to say hi to God. And a lil group photo time.

I am currently trying to decide what time my body thinks it is. Definitely fighting sleep and it’s only 5pm! Oh well, we will work it out and then tomorrow rock the faces of kids in Switzerland.
